Hello Jock-Spank fans!
We have just completed a major upgrade to the blog. After many years on WordPress, we have moved Jock-Spank to a brand new, fully custom-built backend and frontend. The new system is much lighter, faster, and tailored specifically to our needs. It also significantly improves long term security, compatibility and maintainability.
Here is what you need to know about the transition:
• The site looks and feels very similar to before, with some visual improvements
• All old content from the WordPress era (before April 2026) is still fully available and searchable
• However, those older posts are now in read-only mode: it is no longer possible to add comments to them
• All old user accounts have been removed for security, compatibility, and privacy reasons. If you want to comment on new posts, you will need to create a fresh account by clicking 'Register for Jock-Spank'.
• E-mail notification of new posts is not yet enabled, but will be in the near future. (You can set your preference in advance once you sign up.)
Please also note that there are some gaps in the content history, occasional broken links, and missing images in the older archives. These issues did not happen during this migration, rather they occurred several years ago when Bruce was forced to move the site away from Google/Blogger hosting.
